Cape Irozaki (石廊崎) is the southernmost point on Izu peninsula. Irozaki Lighthouse stands on the cape. The cape is also famous as a wether observation point. From Shimoda station, it takes 50 minutes by bus.
From the entrance and the parking area, walk about 15 minutes to the cape.
Then you can see the Irozaki lighthouse
Next to the lighthouse, Iro Shrine is built in the rocks of the cape
Landscape from the rock.
The cape is very windy and has very wild and hidden atmosphere, which gave me an impression like “end of the world,” while it not so far from cities.
