Nanadaru means “seven waterfalls” in Japanese.Kawazu-Nanadaru (河津七滝) is located in the mountains above Kawazu Town in southeastern Izu. A walking trail leads for about one kilometer through the waterfalls. From Kawazu station, buses run every 40 to 60 minutes to Kawazu Nanadaru bus stop (See also Kawazu: Kawazu-Zakura). Buses also run to Shuzenji station.
Kawazu loop bridge is a landmark for the entrance.
Kawazu-zakura bloom in spring.
From the visitor center, you can head to trail along the waterfalls and the river.
If you come to Kawazu by car, Route 414 has less traffic compared to Route 135. Thus, passing through Route 414 and dropping by Kawazu-Nanadaru would work as a shortcut in peak seasons.
